Data Integrity Constraints

Data Integrity Constraints are rules that are applied to a database table to ensure the accuracy and consistency of the data within it. These constraints are used to maintain the quality of data by preventing invalid data from being entered into the database. There are several types of data integrity constraints, including entity integrity, referential integrity, domain integrity, and user-defined integrity. Entity integrity ensures that each row in a table is unique and has a primary key. Referential integrity ensures that relationships between tables are maintained by enforcing foreign key constraints. Domain integrity ensures that data entered into a field is of the correct data type and within a valid range. User-defined integrity allows for custom rules to be created to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
