Social Engineering
Social Engineering is the art of manipulating people to divulge confidential information or perform actions that may not be in their best interest. In the context of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, social engineering can be used to gain unauthorized access to sensitive data or systems. This can be done through various means such as phishing, pretexting, baiting, and tailgating. Phishing involves sending fraudulent emails or messages to trick individuals into revealing their login credentials or other sensitive information. Pretexting involves creating a false scenario to gain access to information or systems. Baiting involves leaving a tempting item, such as a USB drive, in a public place to entice individuals to pick it up and plug it into their computer, which may contain malware. Tailgating involves following someone into a secure area without proper authorization. Social engineering attacks can be prevented through employee training, implementing security protocols, and using technology such as multi-factor authentication.
