Superposition
Superposition is a principle of quantum mechanics that states that a physical system, such as an electron, can exist in all possible states simultaneously until it is measured or observed. In other words, the system is in a superposition of states. This principle is important in quantum computing, where quantum bits (qubits) can exist in multiple states at once, allowing for parallel processing and faster computation. Superposition is also used in quantum cryptography, where the state of a photon can be used to encode information in a way that is impossible to intercept without disturbing the state of the photon.
