Set Theory
Set theory is a branch of mathematical logic that studies sets, which informally are collections of objects. Although any type of object can be collected into a set, set theory is applied most often to objects that are relevant to mathematics. The language of set theory can be used to define nearly all mathematical objects. The theory is used in many areas of mathematics, including algebraic structures, topology, and calculus. In data science, set theory is used to define and manipulate datasets, which are collections of observations or data points. Set theory provides a foundation for data analysis and machine learning algorithms, which often involve the manipulation of large datasets. Set theory is also used in database management systems, where sets of data are organized and queried using set operations such as union, intersection, and difference.
