Search Engines

Search engines are software programs that search for and identify items in a database that correspond to keywords or characters specified by the user, used to find information on the World Wide Web. Search engines use algorithms to determine the relevance of a particular website or web page to a search term. The algorithms take into account factors such as the frequency and location of keywords on a web page, the number of links to that page, and the quality and relevance of the websites that link to the page. Search engines also use web crawlers to scan the internet and index web pages, making it easier for users to find relevant information. Popular search engines include Google, Bing, and Yahoo.
