Packet Sniffers

Packet sniffers are software tools that intercept and log network traffic passing over a digital network. They are used by network administrators and security professionals to monitor and troubleshoot network issues, as well as to detect and prevent malicious activity such as hacking, malware, and data theft. Packet sniffers capture and analyze the data packets that make up network traffic, including the source and destination addresses, protocols, and content. They can be used to identify network performance issues, security vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access attempts. Packet sniffers can operate in a passive mode, where they simply observe network traffic, or in an active mode, where they can modify or inject packets into the network. Some packet sniffers are designed to work with specific network protocols, while others are more general-purpose and can handle a wide range of protocols.
