Level

In data science, level refers to a specific value or category within a variable. It is used to differentiate between different groups or subsets of data. Levels can be nominal, ordinal, interval, or ratio. Nominal levels are used for variables that have no inherent order, such as gender or race. Ordinal levels are used for variables that have a natural order, such as education level or income bracket. Interval levels are used for variables that have a natural order and equal intervals between values, such as temperature in Celsius or Fahrenheit. Ratio levels are used for variables that have a natural order, equal intervals between values, and a true zero point, such as weight or height.
