LCDs
LCDs (Liquid Crystal Displays) are flat panel displays that use the light modulating properties of liquid crystals to display images. They are commonly used in electronic devices such as televisions, computer monitors, and mobile phones. LCDs consist of several layers, including two polarizing filters, a layer of liquid crystal material, and two glass substrates with transparent electrodes. When an electric current is applied to the electrodes, the liquid crystal molecules align themselves in a way that allows or blocks the passage of light through the display, creating the desired image. LCDs have several advantages over other display technologies, including low power consumption, high resolution, and the ability to display a wide range of colors.
