Instruction Set Architecture

Instruction Set Architecture (ISA) is a set of instructions that a processor can execute. It defines the machine language that a computer can understand and execute. ISA is a crucial component of computer architecture as it determines the capabilities and limitations of a processor. It includes the instruction set, addressing modes, data types, registers, and memory architecture. The instruction set is a collection of commands that a processor can execute, such as arithmetic, logic, and data transfer operations. Addressing modes define how the processor accesses memory to fetch or store data. Data types specify the format of data that can be processed by the processor, such as integers, floating-point numbers, and characters. Registers are high-speed memory locations that store data for quick access by the processor. Memory architecture defines how the processor accesses memory and how memory is organized.
