Image Sensor
An image sensor is a device that converts an optical image into an electronic signal. It is used in digital cameras, smartphones, and other imaging devices. The image sensor is made up of millions of tiny photosensitive elements called pixels, which capture the light that falls on them and convert it into electrical signals. These signals are then processed by the camera's image processor to create a digital image. There are two main types of image sensors: CCD (charge-coupled device) and CMOS (complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor). CCD sensors are known for their high image quality and low noise, while CMOS sensors are more power-efficient and less expensive to manufacture. Image sensors are a crucial component of modern digital imaging technology, and advancements in sensor technology have led to significant improvements in image quality and camera performance.
