CMOS

CMOS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) is a technology used to design and manufacture integrated circuits (ICs) that consume very low power. It is a type of semiconductor fabrication process that uses both p-type and n-type metal-oxide-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MOSFETs) to create logic functions. CMOS technology is widely used in digital circuits, microprocessors, memory chips, and other electronic devices. The main advantage of CMOS technology is its low power consumption, which makes it ideal for battery-powered devices and portable electronics. Additionally, CMOS technology provides high noise immunity, high input impedance, and low output impedance, which makes it suitable for high-speed applications. However, CMOS technology has some disadvantages, such as higher manufacturing costs and lower speed compared to other technologies like BiCMOS and GaAs.
