Hard Disk Drive
A Hard Disk Drive (HDD) is a non-volatile storage device that stores and retrieves digital data using magnetic storage and one or more rigid rapidly rotating disks (platters) coated with magnetic material. It consists of a spindle that holds the platters, a read/write head that accesses the platters to read or write data, and an actuator arm that moves the read/write head across the platters. HDDs are commonly used in personal computers, laptops, servers, and other digital devices to store operating systems, software applications, and user data. They provide high capacity, fast access times, and low cost per byte of storage compared to other storage devices. However, they are susceptible to physical damage, data corruption, and mechanical failure due to their moving parts.
