Asymmetric Encryption

Asymmetric encryption, also known as public-key cryptography, is a cryptographic system that uses two keys, a public key and a private key, to encrypt and decrypt data. The public key is used to encrypt the data and can be shared with anyone, while the private key is kept secret and is used to decrypt the data. Asymmetric encryption is widely used in secure communication over the internet, such as in HTTPS, SSL, and TLS protocols. It provides a secure way to exchange information without the need for a shared secret key, which is required in symmetric encryption. Asymmetric encryption is also used in digital signatures, where the private key is used to sign a message and the public key is used to verify the signature, ensuring the authenticity and integrity of the message.
