Virtual Memory
Virtual memory is a memory management technique that allows a computer to use more memory than it physically has available. It is a way of extending the computer's memory by temporarily transferring data from the RAM to the hard disk. The operating system divides the memory into pages and swaps them between the RAM and the hard disk as needed. This allows the computer to run more programs or larger programs than it would otherwise be able to handle. Virtual memory also allows multiple programs to share the same memory space without interfering with each other. However, using virtual memory can slow down the computer's performance because accessing data from the hard disk is slower than accessing it from the RAM.
