TPU

TPU stands for Tensor Processing Unit, which is a custom-built application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) designed by Google specifically to accelerate machine learning workloads. TPUs are optimized for TensorFlow, which is an open-source software library for dataflow and differentiable programming across a range of tasks. TPUs are designed to perform matrix multiplication and other operations commonly used in neural networks at a much faster rate than traditional CPUs or GPUs. TPUs are available on Google Cloud Platform and can be used to train and run machine learning models at a much faster rate than traditional hardware. TPUs are particularly useful for large-scale machine learning workloads, such as image recognition, natural language processing, and speech recognition.
