Skewness

Skewness is a statistical measure that describes the asymmetry of a probability distribution around its mean. In other words, it measures the degree to which a distribution is not symmetrical. A distribution can be positively skewed, negatively skewed, or have zero skewness. Positive skewness means that the tail of the distribution is longer on the right side than on the left side, while negative skewness means that the tail is longer on the left side. Zero skewness means that the distribution is perfectly symmetrical. Skewness is an important concept in data science because it can affect the accuracy of statistical models and predictions. It is often used in exploratory data analysis to identify outliers and to determine the appropriate statistical tests to use.
