Protein Synthesis
Protein synthesis is the process by which cells build proteins. It involves transcription of DNA into RNA and translation of RNA into proteins. In transcription, the DNA sequence is copied into RNA by RNA polymerase. In translation, the RNA sequence is read by ribosomes, which assemble amino acids into a polypeptide chain. Protein synthesis is a fundamental process in all living organisms and is essential for the growth, development, and maintenance of cells. It is regulated by a complex network of signaling pathways and can be influenced by various factors such as environmental conditions, hormones, and disease states.
