Preemption
Preemption is a technique used in computer systems to prioritize certain tasks over others. In the context of data science and artificial intelligence, preemption is used to ensure that high-priority tasks are completed before lower-priority tasks. This is particularly important in real-time systems, where delays can have serious consequences. Preemption works by interrupting a lower-priority task when a higher-priority task becomes available. The interrupted task is then placed on hold, and the higher-priority task is executed. Once the higher-priority task is completed, the lower-priority task is resumed from where it left off. Preemption is often used in conjunction with scheduling algorithms to ensure that the most important tasks are completed in a timely manner.
