Pointers
In Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, a pointer is a variable that stores the memory address of another variable. Pointers are used to manipulate data structures, arrays, and functions. They are particularly useful in situations where large amounts of data need to be processed quickly and efficiently. Pointers allow for direct access to memory locations, which can be used to modify data in place without the need for copying or moving it. Pointers are also used in dynamic memory allocation, where memory is allocated and deallocated as needed during program execution. In addition, pointers are used in object-oriented programming to implement polymorphism and virtual functions.
