Performance Testing
Performance testing is a type of software testing that evaluates the speed, responsiveness, stability, scalability, and resource usage of a software application under a particular workload. The main objective of performance testing is to identify the performance bottlenecks and determine the maximum capacity of the system. Performance testing can be conducted at different levels of the software development life cycle, including unit testing, integration testing, system testing, and acceptance testing. The most common types of performance testing are load testing, stress testing, endurance testing, and spike testing. Load testing simulates the expected user load on the system, stress testing evaluates the system's behavior under extreme conditions, endurance testing measures the system's ability to handle a sustained workload, and spike testing evaluates the system's response to sudden spikes in user load.
