Multi-factor Authentication

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) is a security mechanism that requires users to provide two or more forms of authentication to access a system or application. These factors can include something the user knows (such as a password or PIN), something the user has (such as a smart card or token), or something the user is (such as a fingerprint or facial recognition). MFA provides an additional layer of security beyond traditional username and password authentication, making it more difficult for unauthorized users to gain access to sensitive information. It is commonly used in industries such as finance, healthcare, and government where security is of utmost importance.
