Monotonic Relationship

In data science, a monotonic relationship refers to a mathematical relationship between two variables where the variables either increase or decrease together, but not necessarily at a constant rate. In other words, as one variable increases, the other variable either increases or decreases as well. However, the rate of increase or decrease may vary. A monotonic relationship can be either positive or negative. A positive monotonic relationship means that as one variable increases, the other variable also increases. A negative monotonic relationship means that as one variable increases, the other variable decreases.
