Hadoop

Hadoop is an open-source framework that allows for distributed storage and processing of large datasets across clusters of computers using simple programming models. It is designed to scale up from single servers to thousands of machines, each offering local computation and storage. Hadoop consists of two main components: the Hadoop Distributed File System (HDFS) and the MapReduce programming model. HDFS is a distributed file system that provides high-throughput access to application data and is designed to be fault-tolerant. MapReduce is a programming model for processing large data sets with a parallel, distributed algorithm on a cluster. Hadoop also includes other tools such as Pig, Hive, and HBase, which provide higher-level abstractions for data processing and querying.
