CSR Format

CSR (Compressed Sparse Row) format is a way of representing sparse matrices in a compressed form. In a sparse matrix, most of the elements are zero, and storing these zeros is a waste of memory. CSR format stores only the non-zero elements of the matrix, along with their row and column indices. This format is widely used in numerical simulations, scientific computing, and machine learning algorithms, where sparse matrices are common. CSR format allows for efficient matrix-vector multiplication, which is a key operation in many algorithms. It also enables faster matrix operations and reduces memory requirements, making it possible to work with larger matrices. However, converting a dense matrix to CSR format can be computationally expensive, and the format is not suitable for matrices with a high density of non-zero elements.
