Cox Proportional Hazards Model

Cox Proportional Hazards Model is a statistical model used to analyze survival data in the presence of one or more covariates. It is a semi-parametric model that assumes the hazard rate of an event is proportional to the covariates. The model is widely used in medical research, social sciences, and engineering to study the effect of various factors on the time to an event of interest, such as death, failure, or recurrence. The model estimates the hazard ratio, which is the ratio of the hazard rates between two groups with different covariate values. The model can handle censored data, which occurs when the event of interest has not occurred for some subjects at the end of the study. The Cox model is a powerful tool for predicting the survival probability of individuals based on their covariate values.
