Connection-oriented
Connection-oriented refers to a type of communication protocol in which a dedicated connection is established between two devices before any data is transmitted. This connection remains active until all the data has been transmitted and the connection is terminated. Connection-oriented protocols are commonly used in situations where data integrity and reliability are critical, such as in financial transactions or in the transmission of sensitive information. Examples of connection-oriented protocols include TCP (Transmission Control Protocol) and ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode).
