Cesium Atomic Clock
A Cesium Atomic Clock is a highly accurate device that measures time based on the vibrations of atoms in a Cesium atom. It works by exposing Cesium atoms to microwaves, which causes the electrons in the atoms to jump to higher energy levels. The frequency of these jumps is extremely stable and can be used to measure time with incredible accuracy. Cesium Atomic Clocks are used as the primary standard for defining the International System of Units (SI) second, which is the duration of 9,192,631,770 periods of the radiation corresponding to the transition between the two hyperfine levels of the ground state of the Cesium-133 atom.
