Centroid
In data science, a centroid is the arithmetic mean position of all the points in a given dataset. It is a common method used in unsupervised machine learning algorithms such as k-means clustering. The centroid represents the center of the cluster and is calculated by taking the mean of all the points in the cluster. The distance between each point and the centroid is minimized, which helps to group similar data points together. Centroids can also be used in image processing to represent the center of an object or region of interest. In this context, the centroid is calculated by taking the average of the x and y coordinates of all the pixels in the object or region.
