California Consumer Privacy Act
The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a state-level data privacy law that regulates how businesses all over the world are allowed to handle the personal information of California residents. The CCPA grants California consumers the right to know what personal information is being collected about them, the right to request deletion of their personal information, the right to opt-out of the sale of their personal information, and the right to non-discrimination in terms of price or service when they exercise their privacy rights. The CCPA applies to businesses that meet certain criteria, such as having annual gross revenues of $25 million or more, collecting personal information of 50,000 or more California residents, households, or devices annually, or deriving 50% or more of their annual revenue from selling California residents' personal information.
