Buffer
In Data Science, a buffer is a temporary storage area that holds data while it is being transferred from one location to another. Buffers are used to mitigate differences in data processing speeds between two systems. For example, when data is being transferred from a slow input/output device to a faster one, a buffer is used to hold the data temporarily until the faster device is ready to receive it. Buffers can also be used to smooth out the flow of data in a system, preventing bottlenecks and ensuring that data is processed in a timely manner. In Artificial Intelligence, buffers are often used in cognitive architectures to simulate the way that humans process information. In these systems, buffers are used to hold information temporarily while it is being processed by different cognitive modules.
