True Zero
True Zero is a term used in Data Science to refer to a data point that has a value of zero and is not a result of missing data or null values. In other words, True Zero represents a true absence of the measured quantity. This is important because many statistical and machine learning models assume that zero values represent a true absence of the measured quantity, and not just missing data. For example, if a dataset contains a column for the number of hours worked per week, a True Zero value would represent an individual who did not work at all during that week. On the other hand, a missing value in that column could represent a variety of scenarios, such as the individual not responding to the survey or the data not being collected for that individual.
