Configurable Logic Blocks

Configurable Logic Blocks (CLBs) are fundamental building blocks of Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs) that can be programmed to implement any digital logic function. CLBs consist of Look-Up Tables (LUTs), Flip-Flops (FFs), and multiplexers that can be configured to implement any Boolean function. The LUTs are used to store truth tables for the logic functions, while the FFs are used to store the state of the circuit. Multiplexers are used to select between different inputs to the LUTs and FFs. CLBs can be interconnected to implement complex digital circuits, and their functionality can be reconfigured on-the-fly to adapt to changing requirements. This makes FPGAs highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of applications, including digital signal processing, image and video processing, and machine learning.
