Volatile Memory

Volatile memory is a type of computer memory that requires power to maintain the stored information. This means that when the power is turned off, the data stored in volatile memory is lost. Volatile memory is used to store data that needs to be accessed quickly by the computer's processor, such as the operating system, running applications, and data being actively processed. Examples of volatile memory include Random Access Memory (RAM) and cache memory. RAM is the most common type of volatile memory and is used to temporarily store data that the computer is actively using. Cache memory is a type of volatile memory that is used to store frequently accessed data so that it can be quickly retrieved by the processor. Volatile memory is faster than non-volatile memory, but it is also more expensive and has a smaller storage capacity.
