Sampling Rate

Sampling rate, also known as sample rate, is the number of samples of a signal that are taken per second to represent the signal digitally. In other words, it is the rate at which an analog signal is converted into a digital signal. The sampling rate is measured in Hertz (Hz) and is determined by the Nyquist-Shannon sampling theorem, which states that the sampling rate must be at least twice the highest frequency component of the signal being sampled. A higher sampling rate results in a more accurate representation of the original signal, but also requires more storage space and processing power. Sampling rate is an important consideration in many areas of data science, including audio and video processing, sensor data collection, and signal processing.
