Response Variable

In statistics and data science, a response variable is the variable that is being studied and measured in an experiment or observational study. It is the outcome or dependent variable that is affected by one or more independent variables. The response variable is used to determine the relationship between the independent variables and the outcome. For example, in a study on the effect of a new drug on blood pressure, the response variable would be the blood pressure of the participants. The independent variable would be the drug being administered. The response variable can be continuous, such as blood pressure, or categorical, such as a yes/no response to a question. Understanding the response variable is crucial in determining the effectiveness of a treatment or intervention.
