Optical Fiber
Optical fiber is a type of cable made of thin strands of glass or plastic that are used to transmit data through light signals. The process of transmitting data through optical fibers is called fiber optic communication. Optical fibers are preferred over traditional copper wires because they can transmit data over longer distances and at higher speeds. The light signals are sent through the core of the fiber, which is surrounded by a layer of cladding that reflects the light back into the core, preventing signal loss.
