Event-driven Architecture

Event-driven architecture (EDA) is a software architecture pattern that promotes the production, detection, consumption of, and reaction to events. An event can be defined as a significant change in state. EDA is used in complex applications that require scalability, responsiveness, resiliency, and flexibility. In EDA, events are the first-class citizens, and the components of the system communicate with each other by producing and consuming events. The event-driven approach decouples the components of the system, making it easier to develop, test, and maintain. EDA is widely used in data-intensive applications, such as IoT, real-time analytics, and financial systems.
