DevOps is a set of practices that combines software development (Dev) and information technology operations (Ops) to shorten the systems development life cycle while delivering features, fixes, and updates frequently in close alignment with business objectives. DevOps aims to establish a culture and environment where building, testing, and releasing software can happen rapidly, frequently, and more reliably. It involves automating the software delivery pipeline, continuous integration and continuous delivery (CI/CD), infrastructure as code (IaC), monitoring and logging, and collaboration and communication between development and operations teams. DevOps also emphasizes on the use of agile and lean methodologies, and the adoption of a feedback loop to continuously improve the software development process.
