Connectionless Protocols
Connectionless protocols are a type of network communication protocol that does not require a dedicated connection between the sender and receiver. Instead, each packet of data is treated as an independent unit and is transmitted individually. The receiving device does not acknowledge receipt of each packet, and the sender does not wait for confirmation before sending the next packet. This makes connectionless protocols faster and more efficient than connection-oriented protocols, but also less reliable, as packets may be lost or arrive out of order. Connectionless protocols are commonly used for applications that require fast, low-overhead communication, such as streaming media, online gaming, and voice over IP (VoIP). Examples of connectionless protocols include User Datagram Protocol (UDP) and Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP).
